Volunteer with your local health board

Volunteer with your local health board

There are lots of volunteering opportunities in your local area where you can put your skills and time to good use and make a difference to people's lives.

Both local (territorial) and national (special) health boards rely on volunteers to support people using health and social care services. About 6,000 volunteers work with health and care staff each year. To inspire you, have a look at some of our case studies, which focus on existing NHS Scotland volunteering roles.

To find out more about what opportunities are available, search online for your local NHS website or use the link below, visit your local Volunteering Centre or call your favourite charity.

Some NHS boards will advertise the volunteer roles that they have available, but with others you may need to enquire. Please note that some NHS boards may not have any opportunities at the time that you are looking. Either try again at a later date or check with Volunteer Scotland for other opportunities in your local area.
