Learning from COVID-19: planning and involving people in change

The COVID-19 pandemic has required NHS Boards and Health and Social Care Partnerships to rapidly change services and provide care in new and different ways. During the initial emergency response, quick decision making was needed to increase capacity and maintain essential services.

As we enter the next phase of the pandemic response and look towards future service provision, there is an opportunity to understand and build on the benefits brought by changes during the initial phase.

This session described the scoping exercise undertaken by Healthcare Improvement Scotland – Community Engagement. It highlighted the range and types of services that have changes across the country, the themes that have emerged, and the considerations for involving people in longer term changes as a result of this work.

  • The webinar was led by Daniel Connelly and the Service Change Team (Healthcare Improvement Scotland - Community Engagement)
