Strategic Planning: Creating an 'Offer Map'
About offer map
An Offer Map helps you understand what services are offered by a group or set of organisations, so that we can understand what needs are met/unmet for our users. Through engagement, we know what support people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions require, including within the biopsychosocial model of care.
An Offer Map visualises the spread of services across the whole system of care, and supports an interrogation of how this meets known needs.
It can be used as a starting point to an Interconnected System Map.
Supporting protocol – how you might use this tool:
To ensure local protocols are comprehensive, it is important to understand how different services support people with co-occurring needs in different ways, and start thinking about where there might be useful interfaces between services.
This tool can:
- define what needs are met and unmet by existing services
- help all stakeholders understand what support is available
- highlight gaps in support
- support the exploration of how new connections between services can enhance pathways for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use
- provide a starting point for understanding how people access comprehensive support across multiple services
