Strategic planning community of practice

Strategic planning community of practice

Here at Healthcare Improvement Scotland, we run a Strategic Planning Community of Practice to support the development of strategic planning practices and professionals. We work with strategic planners across health and social care to share knowledge, experience and expertise through a combination of events, resources and peer learning.

We work with strategic planners across NHS Boards and HSCPs to support and share knowledge, experience and expertise on good strategic planning within health and social care

Support for strategic planning across health and social care

  • Enable us to share the new strategic planning approaches, tools and resources that are being developed by the HIS Strategic Planning for Redesign Portfolio to support the co-creation of learning with other Strategic Planners – not just a transfer of knowledge from HIS to local Strategic Planning teams
  • Provide an opportunity for strategic planners to engage with, understand and reflect on various areas, functions and competencies of strategic planning supported by the professional knowledge and expertise of the HIS Strategic Planning for Redesign Portfolio
  • Provide an opportunity for learning and reflection, long term thinking, strategic thinking to ensure that teams are able to generate and bring new ideas to their planning work
  • Foster effective relationships between strategic planners across Scotland through regular opportunities to engage with each other and provide peer support through a learning space.
