LGBT+ communities are a marginalised group often overlooked in healthcare. Engagement is essential in building systems and processes that include them and promote their health and wellbeing. This webinar shared examples of good practice when engaging with the LGBT+ community.

The standards and indicators team at Healthcare Improvement Scotland spoke about their approach to engaging with the LGBT+ community. This showcased the engagement and public involvement that is core to the work of HIS. The importance of an intersectional approach to engagement with marginalised communities was also highlighted.

The Lived Experience Coordinator from Equality Network spoke about the importance of LGBT+ inclusion in healthcare and policy development. We explored the breadth of good practice that takes place across health and social care when it comes to LGBT+ involvement, and highlighted areas for improvement that can take place both locally and nationally.
