Engaging with Asylum and Refugee Communities

Engaging with Asylum and Refugee Communities

Event date: 15 February 2023

Event time: 2:00pm to 3:00pm

What challenges face refugees and asylum seekers in how they understand and use health and care as New Scots?

As an inclusive service, the NHS works from a basic principle of delivering person-centred care across Scotland. The asylum and refugee communities (New Scots communities) may have had a different experience of healthcare before arriving in Scotland.

How do we deliver a Person Centred Care service to the New Scots communities?  What can we learn from their needs and experiences?

The webinar is an opportunity to understand the asylum and refugee communities and the challenges they face in coming to Scotland. It also asks how we can understand what matters to these communities and what we can learn, to help us improve how we deliver health and care services to all of our citizens.
