Sharing learning and knowledge

Sharing learning and knowledge

Sharing learning and knowledge

It's important to use what we learn from all improvement work and use this to make positive changes throughout the system. This can mean sharing research findings, reports, insights, and expertise in a way that makes sense to other disciplines and professions, such as:

  • Policy makers
  • Local authorities
  • Health boards, and
  • The public

How to share your improvement journey

By bringing together what we learn from improvement projects, we can make healthcare more consistent, improve patient outcomes, and make services better for everyone. We would encourage all teams to share their improvement journey with others. You can share your learning by:

  • Writing a case study or learning summary for your project,
  • Submitting an article to the BMJ Open Quality (peer-reviewed paper with a focus on QI projects),
  • Submitting a poster to the NHS Scotland event,
  • Share your experience with your local improvement team, or
  • Contact us by emailing us at his.mhportfolio@nhs.scot to share your improvement journey with the Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
